Frequently Asked Questions
CTR = Clicks ÷ Impressions × 100. It measures what share of the people who saw your ad actually clicked it — a core efficiency metric for any pay-per-click or display advertising campaign.
It varies a lot by ad format and placement: search ads often run 2-5% CTR, display/banner ads typically run well under 1%, and social media ads usually fall somewhere in between. Compare your CTR against your own historical campaigns and industry benchmarks for your specific ad format.
Cost per conversion = Total cost (clicks × CPC) ÷ Estimated conversions (clicks × conversion rate%). It tells you what you're actually paying for each sale or lead, not just each click.
As a rule of thumb, at least 1,000 impressions gives a more statistically meaningful CTR — results from very small sample sizes (a few dozen impressions) can swing wildly and aren't reliable for decision-making.
