Frequently Asked Questions
Posts = sections + 1 (plus any corner or gate posts), where sections = fence length ÷ post spacing, rounded up. A straight run needs a post at both ends, not just one per section.
Divide the fence length by the picket width plus the gap between pickets. A solid privacy fence uses a 0 gap; a spaced picket fence adds a gap.
Roughly (hole volume − post volume), where the hole is about 3× the post's width/diameter. A standard 60 lb bag yields about 0.45 cu ft of concrete.
About 1.5× the fence height, since roughly a third of the post length is buried below ground for stability.
