Compare cost per unit to find the best value
Frequently Asked Questions
Unit price = total price ÷ size. Everything is converted to a common base unit first (grams, milliliters, or items) so differently sized packages can be compared fairly.
No. A bigger pack is only cheaper if its unit price (price per gram, per ounce, etc.) is lower than the smaller pack's. Pack size alone tells you nothing about value.
Only if you'll actually use the product before it expires or goes stale. Buying more of something you'll waste isn't a saving.
Total price ignores quantity. A $10 item that's twice the size of a $6 item is actually the better per-unit deal, even though it costs more upfront.
